Good afternoon Wildcat Families,

Week of September 25:

Pedestrian Safety:

For students who arrive and are dismissed as walkers or bike readers, please take the time to speak to your child about pedestrian safety.

DESSA 4th & 5th Grade ONLY:

This year the DESSA assessment is for 4th and 5th grade students only. Opt out letters have been sent home and are due by 9/27 if you do not want your child to participate. DESSA 4th & 5th Grade 2022 Eng Spn.pdf

School Rules:

Friendly reminder to please ensure your students do not bring any type of toys, pokemon/baseball trading cards or anything like that, etc. to school. Any type of electronic devices are not permitted on campus.  All electronic devices must be turned off once your child enters the building and must be in their backpack, and not in their pocket. Smart watches can only be used for telling time only.  If students use the smart watches in any other manner the watch will be confiscated and parents will need to retrieve the item in the front office.  Please make sure your child does not bring any sentimental items to school, as we do not want an item damaged or lost.  Please remember we are not responsible for any damages to an item or if an item is lost/stolen for personal items.

Parking Lot Safety:

Our top priority is the safety of our students and staff. Please ensure that you are driving carefully while on campus. This includes driving 5 mph and refraining from using your cell phone while driving.

Media Updates:

Our Read-a-thon ended this past Friday and we have raised SO MUCH money for the Media Center! Over $7,000 for new books for all of our students to use!! If your child has raised money, now is the time to go on to your Read-A-Thon account and select your prizes.

Remember to encourage your child to continue reading each day and taking AR tests to reach their quarterly goal.

FLAG Project

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, we are asking all students to participate in the flag creation contest, from September 15- October 5. Students are to create a flag that represents a Hispanic country. The flyer was distributed by your child’s classroom teacher. All flags will be displayed in the foyer and around the school, and prizes will be awarded.

Wildcat Writing Wednesday:  Write a story using these three words:  Train, Hat, Saturday? Have you asked your Wildcat what he/she wrote about yet?

  • October 18: Book Fair begins

A message from PTA:

Hi Wildcat families,

Have you joined our PTA yet? We have less than 2 weeks left for our membership challenge against Camelot Elementary, and we need your help to win! We do not want Mrs. Arbelaez-Willis to get a pie in the face. So, please join our PTA today! The link to join is in your email.

Thank you!

Thank you for your support and partnership.

Have a wonderful day,

Danielle Arbelaez-Willis
