Black History Month Menu

Food is the hallmark of every culture, an avenue for expressing identity and preserving culture.  Soul food originated from a history of struggle and survival.  It displays the sheer determination of the enslaved African to make the most of what was available, which was often the most humble of ingredients.    This year to celebrate the contributions of the African American culture through cuisine, OCPS will highlight a menu thought to express the “soul” of the community.  On February 25th, 2021 the lunch menus will consist of:

Breaded or Jerk Drumsticks

Half Mac n Cheese

Southern Biscuit or Dinner roll

Fresh Collards

Strawberries
Please join us in celebrating the legacy of a timeless food genre that is sure to please the palate and comfort the soul.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership.

Have a wonderful day!
