Sunshine State Young Reader's Award Program
The Sunshine State Young Reader's Award Program is a statewide program to encourage 3rd to 5th grade students to read for pleasure. Each year there are 15 books nominated for students to read. In the spring, students get to vote using a real ballot machine to help the state find a winner!
Students will also have the opportunity to participate in Waterford's Sunshine State Book Club where we discuss and delve deeper into these amazing books. Some lucky and hard working students will earn a place on our Battle of the Books team where we compete in a battle of book knowledge against other schools in Orange County.
