The Reading Counts (RC) program is a fun and engaging incentive program which allows students to take short reading comprehension quizzes on books of their choice. Each book has a different point values based on reading level and difficulty of content. Students earn points for quizzes passed with an 70% or higher. These points are used for incentives within the classroom and school. Quizzes can only be taken at school.

There are multiple ways for students to find which books have Reading Counts quizzes and their points values. We now have stickers on the spine labels on the actual books that have both Lexile and Reading Counts information. You can also see both Lexile and Reading Counts information while searching on the Destiny Catalog. You can search Scholastic's Book Expert website at http://src.scholastic.com/bookexpert. Finally, you can download the free Scholastic Book Fairs app to check from your smart device.
